What is Virtual Desktop Infrastructure?
Streamline your desktop management and keep configuration consistent across devices with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). Our VDI solutions enable you to run virtual machine (VM) desktops and applications from a cloud-based cluster of servers in a data center. We then deliver the virtual desktop services as a managed service.
We partner with industry-leading providers such as Microsoft, Citrix and VMware to deliver flexible, secure and reliable VDI services.

Benefits of our Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
Cost savings
Save on your infrastructure costs by outsourcing your VDI. With a cloud-based solution, there is no need for you to purchase expensive hardware to manage in-house. Our experts optimize your solution to make the most of your budget.
Security
Your data is stored in our tier 3+ data centers, not on your premises. If anything happens to your local PC, your data is unaffected. Servers are patched frequently, keeping your data secure.
Centralisation
VDI supports enhanced user mobility and remote access with an on-demand office environment. By implementing standardized desktop profiles connected to the same desktop, users can pick up where they left off.
Reliability
Our VDI runs on industry-leading hardware and software. With high availability built-in, we guarantee 100% network and cloud server uptime for your infrastructure.
Support and management
Run your virtual desktops without the burden of managing your infrastructure. Our industry-leading UK-based support team is on hand 24/7/365 to assist with any issues.
Scalability
As the needs of your business change, we are here for you. Our flexible VDI solution allows you to easily scale the number of desktops between 20 and 100,000 users.
Extra-mile support
Our experts are here for you 24/7/365, with direct-to-engineer support for your VDI solution. We guarantee a response in under 20 minutes for urgent tickets, with the majority of responses in under five minutes.
Industry-leading hardware
Benefit from premium hardware from HP and Cisco, ensuring the ultimate reliability, scalability and performance without the costs of purchasing and hosting equipment on premise.
Flexibility
Compatible with Mac/Linux/Windows OS, and accessible from laptops, PCs, thin client devices, tablets or smartphones, with a separate OS for each user, our VDI is highly customizable.
How does Virtual Desktop Infrastructure work?
- The virtual desktops live within virtual machines (VMs) running on cloud infrastructure in one of our data centres
- When a user logs in to the VDI client software on any device, a connection broker analyses and accepts the request before sending the user to their desktop
- VDI management software is used by the administrator to manage and create desktop pools, set up policies and provision new desktops

Your choice of solution
Citrix Virtual Desktops
Citrix Virtual Desktops (formerly Citrix XenDesktop) publishes a whole VM from a hypervisor to remote computers or devices.
Users can access Windows virtual applications and desktops through the Citrix Receiver and the virtual applications are delivered and managed via Virtual Desktops.
VMware Horizon
VMware Horizon uses the VMware vSphere environment for hosting virtual desktops and integrates fully with the rest of VMware’s product line.
VMware Horizon technology is built to allow multiple VMs to be run per physical server core. User desktops are VMs running on ESXi hosts, so vSphere features such as snapshots, vMotion, High Availability are available. All data is stored on virtualized servers that can be managed, updated and backed up centrally.
